According to Ukraine, Ukraine has received a significantly changed proposal from the United States for the raw material agreement in the suspension for weeks. The Ukrainian President Wolodymyr Selenskyj spoke to journalists of a “completely different document”. The proposal includes “many things that had not been discussed and some that had already been rejected by the parties,” he said.
“Red line of Ukraine exceeded”
Ukrainian media described the new US proposal, which has not yet been published, as “unacceptable”. The newspaper “Ukrajinska Prawda” wrote that the document “exceeds almost every red line” from Ukraine. The proposal deprives the Ukraine “part of its sovereignty” and force the country to “repay all received US aids”.
Selenskyj said the government would examine the proposal with lawyers. Ukraine will not recognize previously approved US military aid as loans. In addition, his country will not accept an agreement that threatens integration into the European Union, he adds.
The deputy Ukrainian Prime Minister Julia Swryrydenko said on the online service Facebook that Ukraine is working “that the agreement reflects all of our interests”.
Washington is planning signing next week
According to US Finance Minister Scott Bessent, Washington wants to sign the agreement next week. A first planned signing of the Agreement for the United States access to Ukrainian raw materials burst after a scandal in Washington in February. Ukraine has many mineral resources

Meanwhile, Russia's President Putin proposed that the Ukraine, which was largely destroyed by his attack, under the administration of the United Nations. The goal is new elections in which a government capable of action comes to power, with which you can then negotiate peace, said Putin.
Among other things, the proposal was rejected by the UN itself: Ukraine has a legitimate government. Selenskyj also rejected the advance.
Mockery counter -proposal from Kyiv
A mocking counter-proposal also came from Kiev: How about a temporary UN administration in Russia, said the spokesman for the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, Horhij Tychyj, in a message to X. He published a photo with a muddy street and dilapidated wooden houses, as it has in many places in Russia. “It seems that the local people would benefit a lot from any other administration than Putin, who spends billions of dollars for his criminal war against Ukraine,” wrote Tychyj.
