Ukraine reports attacks in several cities

Sirens wailed for hours in large parts of Ukraine at night. Attacks, some massive, were reported from various cities – including from Kiev and, for the first time, from Lviv.

According to military information, Russia again attacked several cities in Ukraine with rockets and drones on Tuesday night, including the capital Kiev and Lviv, about 70 kilometers from the Polish border.

In much of the country, alarm sirens warned the population of air raids for hours. According to initial information, 28 of 30 drones were shot down, the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces said.

The military administration in Kiev reported the shooting down of around 20 drones. “Another massive airstrike on the capital,” her boss, Serhiy Popko, wrote on Telegram. There is no information about damage or injuries.

Infrastructure hit in Lviv and Zaporizhia

For the first time in a long time, the western Ukrainian city of Lviv was again the target of air raids. There were several explosions during the night, Mayor Andriy Sadowyj said on his telegram channel. The head of the military administration, Maxym Kosytzkyj, gave the all-clear early in the morning. An object of critical infrastructure was hit. But no one was injured.

Shaded: territories occupied by Russia

According to Ukrainian sources, the southeastern city of Zaporizhia was also attacked. It was attacked with seven S-300 missiles, the general staff said. The region’s military administration said Russia had shelled telecommunications infrastructure and agricultural land.

“After a noisy night with no respite, the situation in Zaporizhia is stable,” municipal council secretary Anatoly Kourtev told Telegram. No residential buildings were hit and no one was injured, he added. Zaporizhia is less than 50 kilometers from the front.

The information could not be independently verified. There was initially no comment from Russia.
