According to police, at least three people were killed in a Russian drone and rocket attack on the Ukrainian capital Kiev. Three other people were injured, the head of the Kiev Military Administration, Timur Tkatschenko, said on Saturday. He had previously spoken of four dead. In the Holossijiw district, debris had triggered a fire, he added.
Unlike earlier attacks on Kiev, there was apparently no warning this time: air alarm was only triggered after several explosions.

A subway station and a water pipe were damaged, said Mayor Vitali Klitschko. The damaged subway station is located right next to an armaments factory that has been the goal of Russian rocket attacks several times. According to the parliamentary ombudsman Dmytro Lubinez, the Russian armed forces first attacked drones and then with ballistic rockets.
The Ukrainian President Wolodymyr Selenskyj expressed his condolences to the members of the victims in Kiev. In the center of Kyiv, rubble of shot down rockets fell down. Residential buildings, shops and cafes as well as other civilian infrastructure were also damaged.

The Southeast Tukrainian city of Saporischschja was also hit. There, ten people were injured and offices of an industrial complex were damaged, the regional authorities said. According to the governor of the Saporischschja region, an administration building and an industrial complex were partially damaged in the attacks. According to President Selenskyj, the rescue operation continues that other people may have been trapped under the ruins.
According to the Ukrainian military, Russia had attacked several parts of the country with 39 drones and four rockets at night. 24 drones and two rockets were shot down by air defense.
Russian Ministry speaks of Retaliation
Russia said it had made Ukrainian military facilities with high -precision weapons. This was a response to a Ukrainian attack on the Southern Russian border region of Belgorod with ATACMS rockets supplied by the USA, the Ministry of Defense in Moscow said. In addition, the Russian armed forces in eastern Ukraine had further advanced and had taken control of the settlements of Petropawliwka and Wremiwka in the Donetsk region.
Ukraine also reported attacks on Russia: an oil camp in the West Russian region of Kaluga was attacked at night. The depot is important for Russia's military logistics, the Ukrainian general staff said. It is still being checked what damage the attack has caused.
