Bayern star willing to change trains in someone else’s jersey

FC Bayern Munich is the most successful club in Germany. In our news ticker you will find all the important news about the record champions.

The most important things at a glance

Bayern star willing to change trains in someone else’s jersey

Benjamin Pavard causes a stir. The French Bayern Munich defender trained with a colleague and a trainer with elastic fitness bands on a street during the week. His clothing is particularly striking.

Because Pavard doesn’t wear Bayern clothes, but a jersey from another top club. The olive jersey is that of AC Milan. On the back is the number 19 and the name of his buddy and national team colleague Theo Hernández. As is well known, he plays for Milan.

Pavard’s jersey excitement is particularly exciting because the 25-year-old has been considered willing to change for months. According to “Bild”, he informed the Bayern bosses last November that he wanted to leave the club. He would reportedly like to change this summer. His contract in Munich runs until 2024. FC Bayern could now generate a fee for him. Milan was also already considered a potential buyer.

Report: New mission at the start of the league “unlikely”

The comeback of national goalkeeper Manuel Neuer is apparently further delayed. A deployment of the 37-year-old captain from FC Bayern at the Bundesliga opener on August 18 at Werder Bremen is “increasingly unlikely”, reported the “Süddeutsche Zeitung” on Wednesday.

Neuer broke his lower leg on a ski tour in December and has been out ever since. However, he has been back in goalkeeper-specific training for weeks and practiced on the pitch this week before the official start of preparation with the German record champions.

However, according to “SZ” it has now been “internally agreed” as expected that Neuer will not go on the club’s Asia trip (July 24th to August 3rd). Neuer needs more time on his long way back and it would be easier to catch up at home. The plan is to include him “partially integrated” in team training after the Asian tour. Therefore, there is a question mark over his use in Bremen.

After a medical check: Neuer trains again

Manuel Neuer’s medical check was apparently positive. One day after the examinations in a Munich hospital, the goalkeeper from FC Bayern returned to the training ground. In addition to goalkeeper coach Michaelrechner, physio Knut Stamer also accompanied the 37-year-old’s session on Säbener Straße. Videos showed Neuer doing easy, goalkeeper-specific exercises.

Whether the national keeper can travel with the team to the five-day training camp at Tegernsee on Saturday remains to be seen. The media had recently reported that Neuer still needed time and would train more individually.

Since breaking his lower leg in December, Neuer has not played a game for the German record champions. Until the start of the Bundesliga on August 18, the keeper wanted to be number 1 in the Munich goal again. “I’m doing great. My leg has gotten better, more time has passed,” Neuer said on Monday before the medical check-up of the “Münchner Merkur/tz” media group.

Bayern prepares offer for new successor

FC Bayern apparently have their sights set on a successor to Manuel Neuer. According to consistent media reports, Bayern Munich are considering signing Giorgi Mamardashvili from FC Valencia this summer.

According to “Georgian Footy”, Munich want to start negotiations with the 22-year-old goalkeeper this week. The portal was the first to report the record champions’ interest in the Georgian last week. According to “Sport Bild”, Bayern have been in contact with the player side for some time.
