President-elect Trump has made his first personnel decision, appointing Susan Wiles as chief of staff. She is considered a close confidant and has already led several election campaigns for Trump.
In his first personnel decision after winning the US election, Donald Trump made his previous campaign manager Susan Wiles chief of staff in the White House. Trump said it was a well-deserved honor that Wiles would become the first female chief of staff in the country's history. “I have no doubt that she will make our country proud.” He described Wiles as tough, smart and innovative.
Wiles is a longtime Republican strategist who ran Trump's 2016 and 2020 campaigns in Florida. She is credited with playing a large part in the success of this year's election campaign. Wiles largely avoided the spotlight and even refused to speak on stage at Trump's election ceremony as he celebrated his victory on Wednesday.

Trump's first term in office saw many resignations and dismissals – including among the chiefs of staff. The Republican had four total.
