In July 2022, three people were shot dead in a Copenhagen shopping center. The police were able to arrest the perpetrator on site at the time, and he has been in custody since then. Now the verdict has fallen against him.
A year after the deadly rampage in a shopping center in Copenhagen, the 23-year-old perpetrator has been sentenced to a high-security psychiatric ward. He was found guilty on all charges by the Copenhagen City Court.
In its verdict, the court came to the conclusion that the Dane had planned the crime. The 23-year-old is now to be held indefinitely in a highly secured psychiatric facility known as Sikringen, reserved for the most dangerous convicts with mental illnesses. He can appeal the verdict within two weeks – his defense attorney initially left open after the verdict whether he would do so.
