Trump and Selenskyj break off

After an unprecedented argument in front of running cameras, US President Trump and his Ukrainian colleague Selenskyj broke off their meeting in Washington. Trump had previously covered Selenskyj with allegations. This risk a third world war.

First scandal, then departure: US President Donald Trump and his Vice JD Vance have cited the Ukrainian President Wolodymyr Selenskyj in front of running cameras. After that, the meeting was canceled – actually Trump and Selenskyj should have signed a raw material partnership. A planned press conference was also canceled. Selenskyj then left the White House.

Previously, Trump had attacked Selenskyj in a keen form: “They jeopardize millions of people. They risk a third world war,” said Trump. It was disrespectful of Selenskyj to push the United States on safety.

During a loud argument, Trump accused Selenskyj that he was “not grateful at all”. “It will be difficult to get into business in this way,” added the US President.

Trump threatens: “Deal or we are out”

Trump asked Selenskyj to change his attitude. He kept interrupting it while the Ukrainian president tried to reply. In places, violent verbal battles developed.

Trump threatened to let Ukraine down in the fight against Russia if there was no agreement with Kremlin chief Vladimir Putin. “You will either make a deal or we're out,” he said.

“I know they won't win”

“Your country is in great difficulties. I know that you will not win. You won't win this here. You have a damn good chance of getting out of it because of us,” said Trump.

Selenskyj crossed his arms, tried to defend himself, and complained that nobody stopped Putin in 2014 after the Russian annexation of the Crimea peninsula.

Trump was flanked by US Vice President JD Vance. “Mr. President, President, with all respect. I find it disrespectful of you to come to the Oval Office and try to negotiate in front of the American media,” said Vance. “Especially now that they walk around and forced conscripts to the front because they have personnel problems, you should thank President (Trump) to try to improve the situation.”

“You have to be grateful”

“If you didn't have our military equipment, the war would have ended after two weeks,” said Trump, among other things, with a view to the war of attack against Ukraine, which started from Russia in 2022. “You have to be grateful,” said the Republican.

Trump had covered his Ukrainian colleague with hair -raising insults in the past few weeks – but alleviated his tone before visiting Selenskyj.

Trump finally ended the exchange with the words “I think we saw enough” and, with a view to the press present, in the room: “This will be great television, I can tell you that.”

Got out of the helm after 40 minutes

The meeting between the two presidents in the White House was eagerly awaited – and initially started peacefully. Selenskyj and Trump answered questions from the press in the Oval Office for around 40 minutes before their conversation began behind closed doors. Then the meeting got out of hand.

On his online platform Truth Social commented, Trump later commented on the encounter as follows: “He can come back if he is ready to peace.” Selenskyj “did not respect the United States of America in their esteemed Oval Office”.
