Three more Israeli hostages

For days it was unclear whether the ceasefire stopped in Middle East and left other hostages. In the morning the terrorist militia Hamas left other men. You have now arrived in Israel.

The terrorist organizations of Hamas and Islamic Jihad have again released Israeli hostages. In the morning they handed over three men to the hands of the International Red Cross. In the meantime, the released people are back in their homeland: the Israeli military brought them across the border.

The men are now on the way to an army facility in the south of Israel, the military said. There they should also meet their relatives there. In the meantime, Israel released other Palestinian prisoners from custody. In total, more than 300 are said to be released this time.

Hamas stages release

As with the previous hostage clearance, Hamas had staged the handover of the kidnapped. The three men were led by armed terrorists on a stage in the city of Chan Yunis in the south of the Gaza Strip and forced to speak in a microphone in front of a crowd.

Sascha Trupanow, Sagui Dekel-Schen and Jair Horn were then led to vehicles from the International Committee from the Red Cross (IKRK), which then left the square in the convoy.

Geisel deal was on the brink

The new hostage was on the brink for days: at the beginning of the week, Hamas had threatened to cancel the hostages. She argued with alleged violations of Israel against the currently applicable ceasefire and exposed the hostage clearance “until further notice”.

As a result, Israel threatened to resume the war in the Gaza Strip, unless three other living hostages are released at the weekend. Of the total of 251 by Hamas in their unprecedented attack on Israel on October 7, 2023, 73 are still captured in the Gaza Strip. 35 of them are already dead according to Israeli information. Since January 19, a ceasefire mediated by the United States, Egypt and Qatar, in the first phase of which 33 Israeli hostages are to be handed over in exchange for Palestinians, which is being imprisoned in Israel.

Israel's President Izchak Herzog was pleased to comment on the return of the three hostages from the Gaza Strip, but at the same time convicted the Islamist kidnappers. “After the loathed and cynical ceremony that they had to endure, we are glad that they are now united with their families again,” he wrote to the former hostages on the platform X. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also commented on the release of the three hostages, according to his office. “We have prepared their return and will help with the families in their rehabilitation after the long and agonizing days in captivity,” he announced.
